In the podcast you mentioned you weren't sure what Microsoft was going to do about the EMET bypass FireEye published. I thought this was already fixed in the latest version of EMET, 5.5? The FireEye post you linked says "Microsoft has issued a patch to address this issue in EMET 5.5."
