I have noticed this port in my firewall logs when clients try to connect to the Spotify music service (IP range 78.31.8.0/21) If this port is not allowed, they will often fall back to HTTP(port 80) The proprietary Spotify protocol utilize encrypted p2p-like behavior to ease the load in Spotify servers but will also connect to the spotify servers and maintain a TCP session throughout the user's session. http://getsatisfaction.com/spotify/topics/how_exactly_does_spotify_utilise_my_internet_connection
