Choose the time that you want CVTWIN to run. Some time in the middle of the night works. (Please choose a different time than what is shown in the screen shot, so that everybody isn't sending in at the same time.)

Check Open advanced properties for this task when I click finish, and then click on Finish.

Important First add -noui to the end of the "Run" field. (This tells CVTWIN to wake up and run invisibly and then exit, the way you want it to run when it is running in automatically in the background. Otherwise, the task scheduler will make it wake up in the normal interactive mode, which would be real irritating.)

Then click on the Schedule tab.

This dialog shows the path using "short" 8.3 naming. You can use long filenames. But you must delimit the Drive\Path\Filename with double quote characters, like:

"C:\Program Files\cvtwin\cvtwin.exe" -noui

After you clicked on the Schedule tab, then click on Advanced.

To make CVTWIN run once an hour (recomended), fill in the dialog as shown below.

Almost done. Click on OK to close the Advanced dialog box and then on OK again to finish configuring the Task Scheduler.

The task should be added to the Task Scheduler. If you need to edit the task again, right click on the task and choose Properties.

It is now configured to automatically run. Wait a day, or so, for the task scheduler to run. Then you can check its operation by starting CVTWIN from the Start menu and looking at the CVTWIN log. "-noui" will be at the end of log lines that are records of operations done with the -noui option.

The other File menu View operations will display the results of the last conversion.

You should get a confirmation email if you are a registered DShield user and checked the Confirmation box in your DShield user profile. You can login (http://www.dshield.org/login.php) ) and use "Check Your Reports" to see that your log lines are entered in the DShield database.
