As the Cybersecurity Architect, you'll have the opportunity to use your strong analytical and leadership talents to design and build security systems, and to provide technical cybersecurity subject matter expertise for all areas of IT. You will recommend, design, and guide the implementation of security technologies such as SIEM, IPS/IDS, endpoint protection/antivirus, WAFs, DLP, MFA. and cloud security technologies. You will provide engineering expertise and lead deployment of new security technologies efforts while mentoring cybersecurity engineering staff. You will have authority to define security architecture, while still retaining the opportunity to do hands on technical work.
You'll also use your strong communication skills as you work closely with IT architects and managers to provide an additional cybersecurity perspective in IT solution decision making. You will be solely responsible for ensuring the secure design and implementation of all enterprise solutions. You will also work closely with the Cybersecurity Assurance team, which maintains and operates cybersecurity systems. You will provide security solution recommendations, implementation plans, and perform complex hands-on engineering tasks to implement new security solutions.
The contributions you can anticipate making:
Leading the implementation of security technologies including recommending solutions, developing implementation plans, performing initial configuration and installation, and handing off to operational staff.
Explaining specific security attack vectors and vulnerabilities to colleagues, and developing targeted solutions to block likely avenues of exploitation.
Resolving security technology problems escalated from cybersecurity engineering staff using expert technical skills and analytical abilities.
Collaborating with enterprise architecture to identify potential risks and threats, and assisting IT architects in identifying solutions to maximize the security of delivered solutions.
Mentoring team members and vetting the cybersecurity engineering work of others.
Identifying, assessing, and mitigating security threats to the organization.
Recommending operational guidelines for new security solutions during the implementation process.
Leading the planning, execution, and management of small-to-medium sized Information Security projects.
Providing documentation, upon request, to allow for written and graphical views of the security posture of the organization, including how security risks are mitigated across the entire IT.
Providing proactive identification of security risks affecting the company and recommending appropriate security solutions to mitigate identified risks.
To be successful in this role, you will be:
A big-picture person who can conceptualize all of IT infrastructure, while paying attention to the details that differentiate secure from insecure systems.
An analytical person who enjoys analyzing and interpreting processes or data, seeing patterns, and communicating recommendations accordingly.
A self-starter who is excited by the opportunity to lead projects and influence others.
An individual who derives satisfaction from taking a concern or problem and seeing it through to resolution.
Someone who is excited to stay on top of new knowledge and innovations in the field and come up with ideas for possible implementation.
Someone who enjoys building rapport with others.
An organized individual for whom time management and the ability to establish priorities comes naturally.
Someone who enjoys being the decision maker in demanding situations.
