Information Security Analyst
About the Position
The individual who excels in this position will have demonstrated experience managing common endpoint and network security controls, and an insatiable desire and ability to develop new skills in the field of information security. The Information Security Analyst function includes security control analysis and administration, working with internal teams and external service providers on technical projects and tasks, documenting processes and procedures, and participating as part of the incident response team.
Normal Day-to-Day Work
Monitor, administer and tune security systems, such as advanced threat protection, IDS/IPS, SIEM, web filter, etc.
Review daily security and change reports and follow up with management and other teams as necessary.
Investigate security events using system logs, EDR tools, IDS/IPS, SIEM technology and other tools to determine if an incident has occurred, handling to closure or escalation if necessary.
Work with other MIS teams to troubleshoot issues and verify systems are deployed following security standards and guidelines.
Create and maintain documentation for tools used and procedures followed as part of performing duties as well as formulate questions, provide input and explain complex technical concepts.
Create and edit scripts for security analysis tasks and control integrations.
Contribute to the roll out of information security policies, standards, procedures and controls to protect LGFCU assets and information.
Recommend and advise on changes and additions to security controls and business application solutions.
Keep informed of tools, techniques and components utilized in the industry through research and apply this knowledge to system(s) being secured.
Work with end-users to identify and mitigate security threats.
Maintain understanding of team, department, and applicable credit union regulations (NCUA), policies and procedures; and the ability to understand strategic objectives and vision, and work towards those goals.
Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.
Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Information Assurance, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4 – 6 years of experience in an information security, systems administration, or network engineering role, with at least 2 – 3 years of direct, hands-on experience related to this role.
Demonstrated experience with endpoint security controls, such as hard drive encryption, advanced threat protection, EDR, and antivirus solutions.
Experience with maintaining, tuning, and analyzing alerts from IDS/IPS, NAC, firewalls, proxies, and SIEM.
Knowledge and understanding of network and systems administration and engineering concepts.
Minimal travel required, must be able to work flexible hours and weekends as needed, as well as participate in a 24/7 rotation schedule.
Ability to function in a business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security. Information Assurance or equivalent experience.
Experience with application whitelisting and/or NextGen AV solutions.
Experience working with an MSSP and in-depth knowledge of application security.
Understanding of vulnerability and risk assessments.
Comfortable with multiple operating systems, including Windows, OS X and Linux.
Familiarity with regular expressions and scripting (PowerShell, python, bash, etc.).
Certifications in one or more Information Security Disciplines (CCNA Security, GSEC, GMON, GCIH, EnCE, GCFA, etc.).
