These file sharing services will connect you to a peer to peer network. As a result, other peers in this network will connect to you and attempt to index or download your shared files. Like other P2P services, they are subject to the 'afterglow' effect. If you are assigned a dynamic IP address, you may see these connection attempts if a prior user of this IP address recently used a file sharing service. The peers will attempt to connect for quite a while even after the original P2P user disconnected. |
