Job Summary/Purpose: The Information Security Analyst I reports to an Information Security Manager or Information Security Team Leader. Under indirect supervision, the Information Security Analyst I provides a variety of operational, compliance, and consultative functions to enable safe and secure information services to support the academic, research, and healthcare missions of MUSC. This position helps design, implement, manage, and monitor technical, administrative, and physical controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the MUSC’s information assets. Assigned duties will include network security monitoring and incident response, vulnerability management, security technology management and may include risk analysis, policies and standards, and security awareness and may require providing rotating 24x7 on-call support.
Minimum Training and Education: A Bachelor's degree in information security, information assurance or a related field required; or a high school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of IT security or relevant IT experience. Foundational technical knowledge of security engineering, computer and network security, and security controls desired. Strong analytical skills, work ethic, and communications skills. Security related certifications (e.g. CISA, CISSP, SSCP, etc) highly desirable.
