Vice President, Information Security and Network Services
About the Position
The Vice President, Information Security and Network Services is responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving the hybrid Information Security and Network Engineering platforms and services. Will also provide on-going leadership & vision for the prioritization and identification of new services and projects to be developed within a well-defined technology development lifecycle. Will work with senior MIS managers and leaders from other functional areas to develop and enhance the credit union’s technology services.
Normal Day-to-Day Work
Lead the Network Security Engineering, InfoSec Operations, and Cyber Security teams, while building relationships with senior leadership to identify opportunities for development of technology and security solutions to meet key business strategic and tactical initiatives, driving productivity and performance.
Make appropriate technology choices, including leadership on the construction and implementation of information security systems and network infrastructure roadmaps.
Provides vision and manages daily operations of core network and security infrastructure – including data center, data and voice networks, hybrid security systems, and infrastructure services.
Responsible for the execution of Enterprise Network and Security Systems as well architecture programs from design, executive buy-in/support through implementation.
Manages INFOSEC governance, risks, and compliance organization, providing expertise in process improvement, data capture and analysis, network infrastructure support, procurement, tool ownership and compliance with procedures, privacy programs, regulatory and legal controls.
Leads the Information Security Committee. Prepares and authorizes the implementation of necessary information security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines in conjunction with members of the committee. Collaborates with members of the committee, as well as employees to identify information security and network services issues and challenges.
Establishes a security culture through education and awareness programs designed to reduce risks.
Understands threats, vulnerabilities, and control techniques, as well as network of vendors and employees to ensure safeguarding of information assets. Continuously integrates internal and external intelligence to identify and address organizational cyber risks derived from threat, vulnerability, and consequence analysis.
Balances security strategies with the member and employee experience to ensure risk is mitigated without compromising the user experience.
Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.
BA/BS in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field degree within Information Technology.
Minimum 12+ years of progressive technical experience, including 8 years in at least three of the following domains: security products and technologies, network security engineering, network architecture and data center design, network engineering, security analysis and investigations, or risk assessment and management with a demonstrated track record of success.
4-6 years’ experience leading and motivating cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
Ability to function in a consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
Minimal travel required and must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.

Diverse knowledge of information network and security systems and solutions covering full enterprise tech stacks.
8-10 years’ experience with Cisco routing, switching, firewalls and other network infrastructure.
6-8 years’ experience in security tools such as Cisco IDS/IPS, Firepower, IBM Q-Radar, Carbon Black (Bit9), Nexus, Rapid7 VMS and other industry networking and security tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
Possess excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communications skills.
Certifications is networking and security such as CCDP (Routing, Security, Data Center), CCNP (Routing, Security, Data Center), CISSP and/or GISP.
